Lawyer of ex-city Councilman Daniel Halloran grills FBI agent for wining and dining as an undercover

Ex-city Councilman Daniel Halloran’s lawyer accused an FBI undercover testifying in Halloran’s bribery trial Wednesday of living large on the public dime.

“You came to enjoy your role, wining and dining at all these nice places?” lawyer Vinoo Varghese asked the G-man, who posed as a businessman to snare Halloran and state Sen. Malcolm Smith in a corruption bust.

“I got to enjoy good wine and steak, but . . . I wasn’t out on the town,” the agent said.
